WHAT A DEAL!  Over half price, it is drinking incredible!
This 2013 cabernet is aging beautiful, still has incredible acidity and balance with surprising loads of bright red fruit and a touch of well integrated oak. Due to the proximity to the French border, this Spanish Cabernet feels more refined and elegant then one might expect. A touch more French, than Spanish. Supple tannin as well as abundant fruit.  Long and elegant finish!
Definitely a cab to drink with a nice prime rib!

Description

A tiny cooperative of only eight families, nestled in a valley below the Pyrenees Mountain range, resides a small winery focused on your atypical Spanish wines. Due to the proximity to the French border, this Spanish Cabernet feels more refined and elegant then one might expect. A touch more French, than Spanish. Vega Sindoa Cabernet Sauvignon is made by the long running wine maker and general manager Concha Vecino, who actually lives in the old winery( now converted into apartments) which sits right in the middle of their vineyards. She says she likes to go out on her porch every morning leading up to harvest to smell the air, it helps her decide when it’s time to start picking the grapes. The winery itself is called Bodegas Nekeas, but for the US market, the importer decided to call the wine Vega Sindoa after a river located on the property, because he felt the American consumer might think the wine was Greek, give the winery’s  Greek sounding name, Nekeas. This 2013 cabernet is aging beautiful, still has incredible acidity and balance with surprising loads of bright red fruit and a touch of well integrated oak. Definitely a cab to drink with a nice prime rib!
